Naughty By Nature Releases 20th Anniversary Album

Larger than life hip-hop group Naughty By Nature reunited in commemoration of their 20th birthday with an anniversary album entitled Anthem Inc., according to BET.com. This is the group’s first album since their 1999 release of Nineteen Naughty Nine: Nature’s Fury.

The three original members of the Grammy award-winning group – Treach, Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee – have come together not only for Anthem Inc., but also to give you their top five reasons why you should purchase the album, according to SOHH.com.

The first reason, according to Vin Rock, is because it is “good music.”

“Good music is good music. Naughty By Nature always brings good music,” according to Vin Rock. “This project took about two years to complete […] Overall, this was a two year project.”

The second reason [as if we need to be convinced to purchase this album!] via Treach is that “fans have been asking for [it],” he wrote. “There are not too many groups that have been in the game like we have and still have a following. But the biggest ready why you need to get the album is because your n*gga Trigga said so.”

“The third reason you should get this is because Treach is going hard on here. This may be one of Treach’s best performances ever,” claims Vin Rock. “You’ve got some conscious records on here, some party records, some street records on there, so it’s a good overall mix only like Naughty can do.”

“We’re known for that boom bap music,” Treach’s third reason to snatch up the album. “We’re known for making records that all don’t sound alike […] every hit was a monster, every album was its own and we have a strong history.”

The last, but certainly not least, reason that you should add Anthem Inc. to your collection, is because it’s naughty, of course.

“When people go out and buy records, see movies and do anything, they do it because they’re a fan first and trust what they do,” writes Kay Gee. “You know the name and you trust it.”

The album features all-time classics like “Hip Hop Hooray” and “O.P.P” as well as the group’s newer material like “Perfect Party.” Friends of the trio Joe, Queen Latifah and Syleena Johnson also make cameos on Anthem Inc.

The record was released December 13, and features a plethora of underground rappers like Du It All, Tah G Ali and Fam, to name a few.
