Live Mechanics at Project Trade Show in SoHo NYC

Fashion trade show Project recently came through SoHo New York. Streetwear fave Live Mechanics was there showing off the good stuff and invited SoJones along to cover some of the action. The show location was the second floor of an industrial chic space with bare brick walls. The space had been completely transformed into a miniature city, complete with street signs.

SoJones met up with the Live Mechanics crew for the after party at Gold Bar, right around the corner from the show itself. The venue is fantastic. The main room of the club is lined with gold skulls. The drink tables are fashioned after Cartier-style gold bands. In the back of the main room, KJ Kiss was serving some some audio candy from the dj booth.

In addition to the Live Mechanics family, Mickey Factz and the GFC Crew showed up for a piece of the action.

You know that there are always going to be some models in the building, when the party is fashion related. This night was no exception. In attendance, were Oraine Barrett  from Major Modes, Donald Carmichael of  Click Models as well as others.

Wednesday, SoJones made its way to the actual, to take a peek at the Live Mechanics booth. Raphel was kind enough to show some of the pieces that Live Mechanics has designed for Spring 2010.

For the spring, Live Mechanics will be offering a new twist on their tried and true streetwear styles. For both the men’s and women’s lines, LM is offering a variety of patterned button-ups, as an alternative to the plaid. For those who can’t get enough plaid, LM does have plenty of plaid designs, as well. One very cool theme that Live Mechanics has included in their spring lineup are jackets with inner linings that match shirts.

The shirt-jacket combination above, uses the same material that the shirt is made from, to line the inside of the jacket. It makes for a very cool effect. Live Mechanics is also offering an entire line of custom designed jeans. One of the styles of jeans that LM is bringing back for spring 2010 is acid wash. It’s like 1992 all over again!

In addition to the jackets, button ups, and jeans, Live Mechanics is offering some fresh new printed tees. Several of the styles contain lettering with reggae inspired saying, conveying a positive message.

There are plenty more great pieces that can be viewed in the gallery below, as well as additional photos from the party at Gold Bar. Thanks again to Osa, Raphel, Dre, Nakim, Kwasi and the rest of the Live Mechanics guys.
