Sean John - Future is Back

Since its debut a decade ago, Sean John has been one of the household names when it comes to urban fashion. Founded by Sean “Diddy” Combs, the label has endured major transformations, from producing oversized T-Shirts and velour track suits into the preppy upscale collection that we recognize today. Today Sean John has turned into a major clothing line brand and is sold in over 2,000 retail shops around the country with annyal retail sales of over $500 million.

Now the good news: if you have been aspiring to model for an urban clothing line, now you can participate in the Sean John online search for The Faces of the Future, to upload a picture of yourself or help select the model for Sean John’s fall campaign for its men’s collection.

The search commences Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 and will end at April 29th, 2009. Aside from just uploading self-pictures, people can log on to vote and comment on the potential models. The winners are those who get the most votes and the top 10 vote-getters will have the chance to meet Sean John Executive during the first week of May. The winner will be chosen by May 8.

The Sean John photoshoot will be held at Los Angeles on the second week of May with photographer Anthony Mandler and the results will be used for Sean John’s fall-holiday full-blown national advertising campaign which will include print ads, online promotions and outdoor media. Sean John is seriously looking for a new face as they will flown to the shoot of Sean John’s campaigns should they reside outside the Los Angeles area.

Sean “Diddy” Combs who owns the urban clothing brand views this as an interactive way to involve Sean John’s fans in determining who should represent the brand.

“We’re always trying to come up with interactive ideas that keep our customers involved with the Sean John brand. It will be really interesting to see who our fans choose to be the new face for the collection.”

Throughout the years, Sean John has been known to be represented by famous faces including Combs himself, musicians such as T.I., Fabolous, The Game and Daddy Yankee, athletes including Dwyane Wade and Tristan Sooklal, plus fashion models Tyson Beckford and Kevin Navayne.
