If anyone is ready to show you how to get it poppin in the rap game, it will be sojones. we have Dysmanic on a streak for supremacy, and this only means more introspection into who the entity Go Fetti is. With more music rolling out this weekend, we plan to give you a new web show that will be much more interesting than anything on TV right now. It all boils down to the science of School, Work, church, and home.
Here’s what sojones learned more from Dysmanic about Go Fetti:
Within the last year or two I had been emailing hella beats to Go Fetti Sauce Game, or at least what felt like hella. I think initially what had happened was I asked Fetti to shop my beats around. Nothing really came outta that arrangement. Anyways, fast forward to 2014, I moved out to Oakland from the North Bay. Fetti was in Menlo Park. So it was ten times more convenient to link up. Of course I knew that Fetti rapped, amongst all the other things he was up to; such as writing, internet marketing, etc. Granted I really never completely knew how he got his money. But he always had money. I guess Fetti was always kind of an enigma. Probably not just to me.
The process of working on these records with Fetti was simple. I’d make beats and then Fetti would come through to my bedroom studio and lay verses. The beats that we were working with were really all types of styles. Anything from Trap beats, to sample-based with 808 Trap drums, to even the more traditional boom bap sound of the early ‘90s. From there Fetti would come through and we’d record. He’d either have songs written on his phone or saved drafts on dropbox. And if I showed him a new beat that I hadn’t emailed to him, there was a good chance he would just hop in the booth and spit a freestyle, first take, done.
Initially Fetti wanted to drop the album. Which was interesting because most dudes just wanna drop the mixtape. Regardless, after a few conversations we came to an understanding that we should lead up to the album. The thought pretty much was lets release an EP, then a mixtape, and then finally drop a well-anticipated album. Simple.
