Katy Lee, a seasoned veteran in the fashion biz, decided to leave her experiences at Marc by Marc Jacobs, DKNY, Vivienne Tam, and Heatherette behind to create her own line – Heartloom.

According to www.heartloom.com, the brand is “a lifestyle brand consisting of denim, and a wardrobe built around denim – quality jeans, denim novelty items such as rompers, shorts, tees, dresses, and outerwear. Everything that a girl needs to build a full wardrobe that is unique, playful and sexy.”

This romantic New York-based label was founded on Lee’s realization that there was a lack of clothing companies that suit her style and needs as a woman. As a fashion hotshot once based in sassy New York, Lee’s business meetings frequently took her to the west coast. Her usual stays at Los Angeles grew on her, and she grew a certain fondness for the laidback fashion innate to the east coast. She decided to fuse this style with the east coast’s fashion philosophy of sophisticated elegance.

The brand, after all, is a “casual, denim-friendly line, that offered unique detailing and originality without costing a fortune.” True enough, the clothes (except its coats) range from $59-$199.

Besides her vast experiences in fashion, her know-how in graphic design (just one of her two majors at the esteemed Rhode Island School of Design) helped her catapult her line to stardom.

Heartloom beams of its sultry Spring 2009 collection, which features the Cooper Dress, Sheridan Dress, Vestry Vest, Tompkins Dress, Monroe Skirt, Piers Dress, Reade Skirt, Westside Dress, Berri Bodysuit, Lexi Romper, Duane Dress, Smith Dress, Summit Trench, Prospect Dress, Sullivan Polo, Howard Dress, Seaport Short, Walker Jacket, Hester Tee and Chelsea Jacket.

The Summer 2009 collection, on the other hand, featured flirty frocks which are perfect for the beach and those romantic seaside dates with your beau. Completing the collection are the Bronwyn Romper, Trixie Dress, Marcy Dress, Bridget Tee, Brooke Top, Kimmie Dress, Carmine Bodysuit, Paulie Tank, Victoria Romper, Marketa Dress, Hope Dress, Marcy Dress, Posey Short, Kennedy Short, Deville Top, Trixie Dress, Irving Skirt, and the Delancey Daisy Short.

The Fall 2009 line offers a variety of sweet clothes to keep you warm (if not hot) during the cold weather. The line will feature of the Ashley Jacket, Garner Dress, Bobbi Cardigan, Penelope Skirt, Paulie Tank, Celeste Dress, Ruby Coat, Shirley Vest, Johnny Dress, Cheney Cardigan, Janie Hoodie, Pinko Dress, Livia Dress, Aimee Vest, Whistler Skirt, Corrine Dress, Carter Blazer, Gemma Bodysuit, Kelly Shirt, and Nelson Parka.

According to a Kaboodle.com review, Heartloom is ” a playful mixture of denims and knits. This line marries a casual vibe with structured pieces to create one-of-a-kind style. With hints of vintage fifties cuts, Heartloom presents their signature rompers, shorts, and dresses in the highest quality fabrics and construction.”

This poses no wonder why Heartloom clothing have been worn by a number of hollywood fashionistas, including comedic actress Anna Faris, High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale, RnB princess Christina Milian, Jessica Alba, actress Brenda Song, former Nickelodeon Star Amanda Bynes, Paris Hilton and sis Nicky Hilton, The Hills’ Lo Bosworth, actress Tori Spelling, and actress Jessica Lowndes. Heartloom merchandise have also graced the pages of esteemed print and online fashion authorities, such as Cosmopolitan, Star, Life & Style, US Weekly, WWD, Daily Candy, and 944.

With so much press, acclaim from the hollywood elite, and the notion of providing young women with fashionable clothing; Heartloom continues to make strides in the fashion world.
