Top Ten Cinderella Movies

Who doesn’t love the classic tale of Cinderella? Every woman, at one point in her life, feels like a damsel in distress and wants a fairy godmother to transform her into a stunning princess who will capture the heart of her prince charming. It is such a simple and relatable story line it’s no wonder hundreds of movies has been made with the ‘Cinderella’ theme as its main plot. Let’s check out the top ten Cinderella movie of all time.

10. Rags (2012)

This Nickelodeon movie stars Keke Palmer (Kadee Worth) and Max Schneider (Charlie Prince). A pop culture movie, the prince is played by Schneider who lives with his step father and step brothers. The modern day princess is played by Palmer, who is a singer superstar that took the heart of the poor prince. Major plot twist: the male character plays “Cinderella”. Charlie gets a job as a janitor in the recording company Kadee is in and sneaks into one of the company’s masquerade ball. He gets to perform on stage as an anonymous character and won the heart of Kadee. As the time ticks and he has to go, he hastily left the party and dropped his demo tape “RAGS”. Kadee started a search for the mysterious singer.  The movie, of course, had a fairy tale ending where Kadee and Charlie eventually ended up together and became the new superstars of a recording company.

This is a charming romantic comedy film starring Julia Stiles (Paige Morgan) and Luke Mably (Prince Edvard). Paige is a seemingly boring med student who came across Prince Edvard, an heir to the throne but someone who wished to be normal. He schemed his way to go to college at the University of Wisconsin where he kept his identity a secret, and eventually fell in love with Paige. Shocked at the paparazzi who are always after him, the Prince finally revealed his secret to Paige who did not took it well. After his mother went ill, Prince went back to Denmark without saying goodbye. Paige realizes she loves her Prince and went to search for him. She found him in Denmark, the Prince proposes to Paige but although she loves him, she won’t give up her dream to become a doctor and went back to America. During graduation Prince Edvard visited her, expressed his love for her and said he will wait for her. Of course, the movie ended with a fairy tale kiss.

An adaptation of the classic Cinderella Story, this movie follows the life of Ella played by Lily James and how she lives her life with her evil stepmother played by award winning Cate Blanchett. Ella lived a low life as a maid to her step sisters. Luckily, an invitation to come to the palace ball gives Ella a chance to go out of the house and meet a stranger in the woods, played by Richard Madded. The magic of a beggar turned fairy good mother helped Ella be a princess for a night and eventually lived happily with her Prince.

Following the classic Cinderella plot where ordinary girl turns princess, this movie follows the story of Daphne played, by Amanda Byrnes. Daphne, is an ordinary American teenager on the hunt to find his real father. Her search landed her in England where he met his father, who is actually Lord Henry Dashwood, played by Colin Firth. Surprised to be a royal blood, Daphne tried to belong in high society but received a lot of disapproval from people around him. Eventually Daphne surpassed the obstacles and proved her worth and even caught a loving ‘prince’ for herself.

Katie Gibbs played by Lucy Hale, is a 17 year old girl who lives with her evil stepfamily. She does all the low jobs that are given to her. Gifted with a beautiful voice, she was forced to sing a demo so that her untalented step sister can grab a record deal. She wrote a song for her love, Luke, played by Freddie Stroma and she get to sing it to him during the school’s masquerade ball but their moment was cut short because Katie has to go home before her step mother finds out she was gone. Katie eventually ended up in the spotlight and in Luke’s arms.

The movie is loyal to the original story plot where Cinderella lives with her evil step sisters and stepmother who always give her a hard time. She was able to go to the palace ball with the help of her animal friends and of course, her fairy godmother. The Prince fell in love with her but as the clock strikes 12 midnight, she left the ball abruptly and accidentally left one of her glass slippers. The prince used the glass slipper to find her and they eventually ended up together and lived happily ever after.

She met Joey Parker and they fell in love but as she flees away to go home, she left nothing behind, not even her name, but only a Zune player. From then on, Joey Parker was out on a quest to track the girl of her dreams.

It is now up to Sam to play her cards right and get the boy.

Her stepmother tries to find rich husbands for her two daughters. Danielle meets Prince Henry, played by Dougray Scott, and her life took a spin and lived happily ever after. The charm of the alluring Drew Barrymore made this movie a big hit.
